#1: I did not mention Cod/Battlefield in my original post, nor do I play them. I'm also a firm believer that pay to win should never exist EVER. Period. (Which is ironic considering that is what PC gaming is - namely, the person who can pay the most money to buy the best specs PC can gain themselves a reasonably significant technical advantage over any other player in their competitive lobby). Also, I wasn't aware of COD selling weapons in their season packs, I thought it was only maps and skins. Even so, COD's season passes are overpriced at best.

#2: I disagree entirely with Steam's marketing strategy. I do not concern myself with caring about how other people choose to spend their money (I certainly won't even be playing this game, let alone putting down money for RNG). I just think its unfair that steam exploit people by literally selling them the chance to get nothing.

It's gambling. People know (or should know) that they are NOT buying a skin if they buy a case + key.

Also, PC gaming isn't necessarily P2W. In fact, playing at low settings with low effects often makes it easier to see enemies. And to kill them.

Go check BF4 on Origin. You can buy the unlock weapons.

Well, there's two things wrong with with battlefield.

#1 EA (They'll sell you your soul if you're not careful)
#2 Origin. (its crap).

I think its reasonable to say that a higher specced PC (on which you can still reduce physics), allows you to have a farther draw distance and a higher refresh rate (monitor dependent, FPS, hardware dependant)..both of which are advantages provided by the hardware upgrade nature of PC gaming. If everyone's on the same hardware, then there's no unfair advantage to anyone whatsoever.

1.) For these reasons, I disagree with competitive PC gaming, CSGO being one of the main games of such. Purely because there are so many luxuries available on PC to the player with the biggest wallet, it can never EVER be fair.

2.) I also disagree with gambling in games. I don't think it should be a thing. Games should be concerned with rewarding players in different ways, rather than an infinite loop of 'you might get this, you might not, so keep putting down your money'.

3.) I see nothing in CSGO (other than some of the tactical potential that can be made in combat) that makes it a special game.

and, the tactical potential + how it is different from CoD and BF is what makes it a better competitive game.

Also, when I played PS3 at 576p, I was at a disadvantage to those who played at 1080p, because they had a bigger wallet. It doesn't really matter too much. 60Hz to 120Hz doesn't help too much in games like this. Sure, it's better, but only slightly better. It might affect your playstyle, but hey, that's why this game isn't CoD. This isn't a "run and gun" game.

Also, yeah, Origin is sh*t, but it has some good stuff.

Do not understand your post about playing PS3 at 576p at all.

Also noteworthy to say that COD and BF are not the only competitive games around. (Remember Halo on xbox). COD is a run an gun shooter, but at least it has some competitive potential as the person who hits first, wins. Halo does get very tactical when it comes to things such as map movement (a bit part of competitive play).

CSGO is pretty much a static shooter. You run to a spot, stop, shoot, continue. Which I find boring. I just think CSGO is a plain, boring game. Enough said.

You say people on PC are at a disadvantage to people with better specs. To a certain extent, so are console games. I am at a disadvantage by using a cheap 576p TV instead of a 1080p one. I couldn't see crap on that display.

It's much more complex than it looks like. CoD, competitive? .... if you say so. It's essentially a game where you don't think, you don't need to think. You sprint, spam your recoilless gun go prone at the same time. How is that a game with competitive potential?

#1- Most people have HDTvs..certainly the proportion of People with HD TVs vs people who don't is way higher than the proportion of people with better specced PCs than those who don't. Besides a HDTV is a much cheaper piece of equipment...especially considering how you would have to buy a TV or monitor for your PC anyway.

#2- COD is a genuine Esport game. More often than not, its reflexes rather than tactics that are valued on the COD competitive scene. I just find CSGO to be a boring, fairly static shooter..so I don't really like the game, neither do I agree with the marketing strategy dice uses.

You can't know without playing it. Hell, I thought it was like CoD, I just bought it because some of my friends had it, so I got it to play with them. And yes, I had seen the game on YouTube.

Nah...that's not entirely true... I can see how games play by watching them...have always been able to do that.

you really can't. CS is different, and while it looks similar, gameplay feels different. You can't get a feel for it without trying.
